Many Savannah cats have been imported from A1 Savannahs into the UK. However one Savannah breeder in the UK has had some health issues in her cattery which has led to the deaths of two of her Savannah cats. This subsequently turned into a dispute and bad publicity for the breed. We do not support disputes between breeders and believe it to be bad for the breed. This breeder now appears to have got her cattery clear of viruses and is moving on.

We have heard that some people have been questioned about the validity of their claims to own A1 Savannahs cats in the UK - because some people are under the impression there is only one cattery (us we presume!) allowed to import cats into the UK from A1 Savannahs. That is the case for orders placed from the UK from 18th December 2007, however there are still cats coming into the country for contracts signed between UK customers and A1 Savannahs prior to 18th December 2007. If there is any doubt - please let us know.

We are working together with A1Savannahs to safeguard the integrity of the Savannah breed in the UK and we are happy to tell you that we now offer a free pedigree checking service for any customer who wants to buy a cat with A1Savannahs heritage. This check is free for the forseeable future and we hope that this will help to make sure that customers are getting genuine A1Savannahs derived cats. If you pay for an Aston Martin you should get an Aston Martin - not a jalopy. We hope to recruit more UK breeders to help us help you. More on this later..

We are very pleased to announce that it has just been confirmed that the first TICA registerd SBT Savannahs have been registered by A1Savannahs. SBTs are accepted as domestic cats, having at least four generations of Savannah to Savannah matings behind them.
